Description
WE BUILD AND LOOK AFTER A LOT OF A SERIES RACE ENGINES.
THE OLD SCHOOL THING TO DO WAS REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT AND HAVE NOTHING (VERY BAD) OR HAVE A CIRCULAR BLANKING SLEEVE IN THERE (NOT QUITE SO BAD)
WITH THE ADVENT OF IMPROVED COOLING SYSTEMS, I.E. MOST RACE CARS ARE RUNNING ALLOY RADIATORS, THE TIME HAS RETURNED TO SLOW THE WATER FLOW DOWN AND KEEP THE TEMPERATURE AT A CONSTANT, IF THE TEMPERATURE IS NOT STABLE HOW CAN YOU SET THE FUELLING AND IGNITION CORRECTLY?
MOST CARS RUN ABOUT 88 DEGREE STAT WHICH IS TOO HOT BUT AROUND 70 IS IDEAL FOR AN UPRATED OR COMPETITION ENGINE, WE RUN THESE THERMOSTATS IN ALL OUR RACE ENGINES AND THE RELIABILITY IS FAULTLESS, NO MESSING AROUND WITH BLANKING THE RAD OFF ON COLD DAYS TO GET UP TO TEMPERATURE AND ON HOT DAYS YOU WILL BE RUNNING AT 70.
A SIMPLE SOLUTION, -THESE THERMOSTATS ARE WHAT WAS COMMONLY FITTED TO VIRTUALLY EVERY UK CAR IN THE 50s-60s-70’s NOW WE HAVE A LOW TEMP OPENING ONE WITH BYPASS HOLES TO PREVENT AIR LOCKS WHEN FILLING.
JUST FIT AND FORGET, COMES WITH A GASKET FOR A SERIES APPLICATIONS.
